Khandro Fair Trade and the Cause |

The production of Khandro is conducted by fair trade and conscious commerce principals, directly benefiting the local village community and every worker involved. Tailors, weavers, knitters and embroiderers are treated |
with respect and well paid. Additional training in hand skills to village women is enabled through Khandro and Dayan Cutler-Basnets other productions. |

Further the team is committed to the village community well-being programs funding and working with several root level projects: |

A loving children´s home, The Birds Nest, is run to shelter the most vulnerable ones |

The poorest children are given sponsors for the funding of their education |

Medical facilities are being built in the village |
 |
Chimneys have been placed in 85 village houses to protect the people from direct smoke inhalation |

Youth trainings are given in several skills: woodcarving, cooking, baking, driving, computers, trekkting, tailoring etc. |

The women´s group is supported to learn to grow and harvest organic crops | |

A cleaning and recycling program ist running to keep the village clean and to educate villagers about hygiene |

During cold winter months, hundreds of children and given sets of warm winter clothing collected and sent from Europe |

Emergency rescue training is conducted for village men in case of catastrophe like an earthquake, floods, fires and other accidents |

Cultural activities, music and dance classes are organized for village youth | |
